Winter 2008 in Brisbane

As you probably know, Winter here is like a mild bad summer in Germany. It's around 20 degrees every day and at night it can get down to maybe 5 degrees but not colder. And even when it was that cold it just stayed like this for a few days. I barely used my jacket or a scarf. You definitley don't need hat or gloves at all. Ok maybe when you ride a bike early in the morning or at night.
So you can imagine that was the best winter I've ever had. I like cold winters as well but only if the landscape is covered in thick and soft snow. That's the best. I am glad I go back to germany for Christmas. Christmas in the heat is one of the things I can't imagine yet. BBQ's on the beach and short dresses is something I associate with summer not with christmas. But I guess I can write about that on christmas.

So for now here are a few photos which i took during the winter month. Winter is here from June to September. Yes we started the Spring already and it doesn't feels like spring. It's more like summer already. I walked to work yesterday a bit later around 9am in the monring and I was sweating so badly... The sun is so hot here. But about winter, you know which was the funniest at all? It was strawbeery season and everything was in flower! You see it on some of my photos. So amazing. And it was smelling like spring as well. So it's more like (starting in June) Spring, Summer, HOT, Summer, Spring! :)

Wie ihr wahrscheinlich wisst, der Winter hier ist wie ein milder schlechter Sommer in Deutschland. bei 20 grad jeden tag kann man sich nicht beschweren. auch in der Nacht wird es nicht kaelter als 5 grad Celsius aber das auch nur ganz selten und nicht fuer lange Zeit.Ich habe fast nie meine jacke gebraucht, geschweige denn einen Schal oder handschuhe und Muetze. ja vielleicht wenn du mit dem Fahrrad faehrst frueh am morgen oder in der Nacht.
Aber ihr koennt euch sicherlich vorstellen, dass das der beste Winter den ich jeh hatte. Kalte Winter sind auch schoen aber nur wenn die Landschaft mit Schnee bedeckt ist und es so herrlich still ist. Aber ich bin froh, dass ich zu Weihnachten wieder in Deutschland bin. Weihnachten in der Hitze kann ich mir noch nicht zo richtig vorstellen. Grillen am Strand und kurze Kleider assoziiere ich mit Sommer nicht mit Weihnachten. Aber ich glaube dazu schreibe ich mehr wenn es soweit ist.

Also hier sind ein paar Fotos von meinem Winter in Brisbane. Der Winter faengt hier im Juni an und endet im September. ja bei uns ist schon wieder Fruehling.. zumindest laut dem Kalender. denn es fuehlt sich schon wie Sommer an. Als ich gestern zur Arbeit gelaufen bin so um 9 rum, da musste ich ganz schoen schwitzen. Die Sonne ist hier viel heisser als in Deutschland. Achja ueber den Winter, wisst ihr was das lustigste war? Es war Erdbeer Saison und alles stand in Bluete! Auf ein paar meiner Fotos koennt ihr es bestaunen. Und es hat natuerlich auch wie fruehling gerochen. Also ist es mehr wie (angefangen im Juni) Fruehling, Sommer, HEISS, Sommer, Fruehling! :)

Brisbane early in the morning. We drove up to mount Coo-tha one day at 7am to see the fog over Brisbane. The sun was shining on top of the hill, but not in the city.
Brisbane frueh am morgen. Als es wieder einmal so neblig war sind wir am morgen auf den Mount Coo-tha gefahren und haben uns die Stadt von oben angeguckt. Die Sonne schien auf dem Berg, aber nicht in der Stadt!

On the Goldcoast with a friend of a friend who was german and I had to show her arround! ;) That was during my holidays after i finished the first job!
An der Gold Coast mit einer Freundin eines Freundes die aus Deutschland ist und ich herumfuehren durfte. :) das war waehrend meines Urlaubs den ich hatte bevor ich meinen neuen job angefangen habe.

good waves... apparently they are not often good and we can't go surfing...
schoene Wellen... Leider gibt es nicht oft gute wellen also koennen wir nicht oft surfen gehen.
